TETON Sports Scout 3400 Internal Frame Backpack

 The TETON Sports Scout 3400 is overall a good quality back pack. It has tons of pockets and loops to hook many things on. It's lightweight and the pack has lots of customization options.

I like the options, including the sleeping bag pouch. My sleeping bag barely fit though...It was a challenge to stuff my bag and get it zipped, let me tell you! Afterwards, I was able to place a tent, 4 days of food and clothes, a stove, lantern, pillow, pad, cups, walkies and so much more. Fully loaded for a summer hike kept me <29lbs!

TETON Sports Scout 3400 Internal frame back pack is very comfortable as well. The padding is very generous and again, the adjustment options are plenty! I felt very balanced when wearing this pack and I feel it will last for many years when I examined the stitching and build quality.

The only drawback is that I specifically purchased this pack because it had a hydration pouch. Reading the instructions, it was very difficult to determine where exactly my pack was supposed to go. It's not very clear and when I finally figured it out, it was illogical because the pouch location is between your back and your load. For me, this was bad because I placed my pouch in there, filled it and tried on the pack. It was very uncomfortable having water sloshing between me and the pack. I did not have a very confident feeling when the pack was not on my back. Also, it created tremendous pressure on my system, so when I went to take a drink, I was flooded every time. I ended up placing the hydration pack on the outside vestibule which worked just fine.

Overall, this is great and I recommend this pack. Good luck with the hydration though. Perhaps that is where it is supposed to go, but it didn't seem normal to me.

•  Not a lot of organizational sleeves or pockets internally. 
•  Zippers are a little tight.

This Tactical Backpack is heavy duty and strong. Definitely not something that is going to fall apart easily. The back padding is really nice. You will have room for EVERYTHING. The MOLLE system provides tons of room for additional packs. There are pockets everywhere. If you are looking for a well made, solid, heavy-duty pack, Condor 3 Day Assault Backpack ia a great choice.

Tactical Backpack: Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Pack

I first encountered this Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Pack Tactical Backpack while deployed to Iraq several years ago. They were selling them in the PX for a lower price and guys were buying them like candy. The quality matched or exceeded our issued ILBE packs (ArcTeryx/LEAF "Tango" modified Bora 95) and the design was much more practical than the ILBE's attached "Charlie" day-pack (discontinued for civilian purchase). I wanted one then, and finally bought one at my stateside PX for around $130. The interior is bright yellow, which really aids in low light searching. The outer pockets are quite large and hold a ton of stuff.

This Tactical Backpack is well built, well thought out, and very comfortable to wear. There's nice wide shoulder straps, a chest strap, and a waist strap that will reach at least 42-44" waist. The Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Pack shoulder straps have quick release buckles on them. The waist strap is removable. The chest strap can be removed and slid further down the shoulder straps to accomodate a female torso as well. Two cinch straps are provided, one low and one high, to compress the pack if needed.

The drag handle is perhaps the most durable on the market with ultra-heavy-duty stitching and double-layer reinforced fabric. There are velcro flaps on either side of the drag handle which open to allow a hydration tube or radio antenna to pass through.

The Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Pack zippers are heavy duty YKK and will stand up to a lot of abuse, as will everything on this tactical backpack. Everything is superbly designed and executed.

Pros:

• Best/Highest Quality materials and construction (There is sooo much attention to detail that they put into its construction, this is why it costs more than its competitors)
• Very large capacity (its hard to tell from the pictures but it can hold a lot)
• Dual compression straps allow the bag to become as small as you need.
• Molle webbing all over bag, including the bottom.
• Comes in any color you'll need (i got the Coyote Brown and it looks awesome)
• Made in America with a lifetime warantee.

Cons:

• Its expensive (but you get what you are paying for)
• Does not have an internal frame, it does include a foam back pad that adds some rigidity and cushions your back at the same time.

Overall the Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E Pack is an outstanding tactical backpack. Durable and heavy duty construction targeted for a military audience. Highly recommended as a bug-out, survival, hiking, or personal patrol pack.
